The Deering Goodtime Tenor Banjo is an exquisite American-made instrument, perfect for string players transitioning to banjo. It features a neck crafted from Rock Maple with a satin finish, a 1 1/8" nut width made from Lexan Polycarbonate, and 17 pressed-in nickel silver frets for a smooth playing experience. The banjo's body includes a 3-ply violin-grade maple rim with an 11" diameter and a bottom frosted high crown head. Enhanced with sealed geared tuners, a beveled steel tension hoop, and a Deering patented Goodtime tailpiece, it boasts a hand-rubbed polyurethane finish with Carnuba wax. Weighing approximately 4.0 lbs and measuring 32" in length, this banjo is tuned in fifths (C, G, D, A), similar to a viola or cello, making it an ideal crossover instrument with a loud, rich tone and lightweight, comfortable design.
